Blackwell Bushcraft CIC Terms and Conditions

General

Please read these terms & conditions before completing the Booking Form.

These terms & conditions form the basis of the contract between Blackwell Bushcraft CIC and the client and cannot be changed, unless in writing by Blackwell Bushcraft CIC.

In these terms and conditions: a) The expression ”the Client” shall mean the person who booked the activity. b) The expression “the Company” shall mean Blackwell Bushcraft CIC.  The terms and conditions are applicable by UK Law.

Although most courses are gentle course participants must have a reasonable standard of general fitness.

Blackwell Bushcraft CIC cannot be held responsible for any losses incurred as a result of failure of client to disclose medical conditions.

Booking & Payment

  1. All payments must be cleared before booking is confirmed, and the course must be paid for in full 2 weeks prior to the start date of the course.
  2. Blackwell Bushcraft CIC reserves the right to refuse any booking without giving a reason.

Cancellation by client

  1. If the client cancels for any reason up to 2 weeks before the start date of the course, the deposit will be refunded.
  2. If the client does not pay the balance of the course fee within 2 weeks of the start date of the course, Blackwell Bushcraft CIC will consider the client to have cancelled.
  3. If the client cancels between 2 weeks and 1 weeks before the start of the course, then 50% of the full payment will be forfeited
  4. If the client cancels less than 1 week before the start of the course then 100% of the course fee will be forfeited.
  5. The client acknowledges that such cancellation charges are reasonable due the need of Blackwell Bushcraft CIC to make substantial preparations in advance.

Cancellations and Alterations by Blackwell Bushcraft CIC

While Blackwell Bushcraft CIC will make every effort to run the courses as scheduled there may be circumstances (e.g. extreme weather conditions) when we are forced to cancel a course or specific activity. In these circumstances, a full refund will be given, or an alternative date or alternative activity will be offered.

Client Conduct

  1. Blackwell Bushcraft CIC expects its clients to behave in a safe and reasonable manner throughout the course, and not to jeopardise the enjoyment or the safety of other course participants. In particular:
  2. No alcohol or illegal drugs are permitted, and clients must not be intoxicated at any time during the course.
  3. Clients are responsible for bringing adequate clothing and equipment to the course, as per the What to bring section of the website. 
  4. Clients must comply with all reasonable instructions and directions from the Instructors, and in particular no knives must be used until the Instructors are satisfied that the clients have been fully instructed in knife safety.
  5. No fires are to be lit without the express consent of the Instructors, and fires must not be left unattended at any time.
  6. Clients are responsible for any equipment issued to them during the course, and will be liable for loss or breakage.

Failure to comply with the above may result in removal from the course, without refund, and Blackwell Bushcraft CIC will not be liable for any subsequent losses.

Insurance and Liability

  1. Blackwell Bushcraft CIC has £5,000,000 of Public Liability Insurance with a reputable Outdoors Activities insurer; a copy of the Insurance Certificate can be provided on request.
  2. By booking Clients acknowledge that outdoor activities including those provided by Blackwell Bushcraft CIC contain an element of risk.
  3. This agreement releases Blackwell Bushcraft CIC from all liability relating to injuries that may occur during any of the activities provided.
  4. By booking Clients agree to hold Blackwell Bushcraft CIC entirely free from any liability, including financial responsibility for injuries incurred, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.
  5. Blackwell Bushcraft CIC cannot be held responsible for any losses or damage to clients’ personal belongings, clothing, money or vehicles.
  6. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that they arrive at the designated meeting point in a timely manner in order to be able to join the course.
  7. Blackwell Bushcraft CIC recommends that clients consider taking out their own personal insurance if they require it.
  8. Blackwell Bushcraft CIC will not be responsible for any accidents or mishaps occurring to third parties taught by attendees of any Blackwell Bushcraft CIC course.

Complaints

Should any Complaints arise they should be directed in the first instance to the Instructors during the course, so that the issues can be resolved at the time. Any complaints that arise after the end of the course must be put in writing to Blackwell Bushcraft CIC within 14 days of the end of the course. Blackwell Bushcraft CIC will not be liable in respect of any complaints received after this time.

Imagery 

– The Client agrees that any photographs taken by the Instructors during the course may be used by Blackwell Bushcraft CIC in promotional material, either printed or on the Internet unless specifically asked not to do so.

– You must inform us in writing prior to the start of the course that you do not wish to be photographed or videoed.
– If you participate in photographs or videos you will automatically forfeit the right to have your image withheld.

Upon booking the client agrees;

The client not aware of any injury, illness or other health-related issues that would restrict or limit my child’s or my own ability to participate in the activities.

The client acknowledges that this activity may involve the potential for injury or property loss. The risks include, but are not limited to, those caused by facilities, temperature, weather, condition of participants, equipment, and actions of other people including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers and/or producers of the activity. These risks are not only inherent to participants but are also present for visitors.

The client certifies that they have read this document and fully understand its content. The client is aware that this is a release of liability and a contract.
